Tara Brennan-Speranza

With extenisve bone cell biology, molecular biology and experimental animal model experience Dr Tara Brennan-Speranza investigates basic research into musculoskeletal and endocrine health and biology. She currently holds an NHMRC Early Career Fellowship and is a senior lecturer in the department of physiology at the University of Sydney. Her research involves investigations into the physiology and pathophysiology of the skeleton and therapeutic benefits of pharmaceutical interventions into skeletal and metabolic diseases in murine and in vitro models. Since commencing her honours degree in 2003 she has had almost continuous competitive grant support within Australia and Switzerland. Her work investigating the role of osteoblasts in metabolic control has gained international recognition.
