Jeremy Thompson is a National Health and Medical Research Council (Australia) Senior Research Fellow, and Head of the Early Development Group within the Adelaide Medical School. He is a member of The Robinson Research Institute and Theme Leader in the Australian Research Council’s Centre for Nanoscale BioPhotonics. He completed his PhD in 1986 at the University of Queensland and spent 13 years in New Zealand researching IVF in livestock. In 1999 he was appointed as the IVF Lab Director at Repromed, the University of Adelaide’s IVF unit, which he relinquished on obtaining his first research fellowship. In addition, he has been a manager of several business units within the University and a consultant to, and developed products with, various companies involved in assisted reproductive technologies in both human clinical ART and livestock genetic improvement. In January 2018, he founded ART Lab Solutions Pty Ltd, an R&D and service company in reproductive technologies, primarily to support livestock reproduction.
He has published over 195 peer-reviewed articles, reviews, reports and book chapters, and held positions with the International Embryo Technology Society and the Society for Reproductive Biology.
