Cassy Spiller

Cassy is a senior postdoctoral researcher and Career Track Fellow of the School of Biomedical Sciences (SBMS) at The University of Queensland (UQ). Her PhD studies, investigating fetal germ cell cycle control, were with Prof Koopman at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience (UQ, 2009). In 2016 she moved to SBMS with A/Prof Josephine Bowles to continue her research into the normal and malignant development of male germ cells. She has trained with and has ongoing collaboration with world leaders in testicular cancer biology based in Denmark (Copenhagen University Hospital) and The Netherlands (Princess Maxima Centre for Paediatric Oncology). Cassy is now investigating environmental chemical exposure for effects on gonadal development and fertility with collaborator A/Prof Terje Svingen, Danish Technical University, Denmark. Her research is currently supported by the ARC, Rebecca L Cooper Medical Research Foundation, and the Kids’ Cancer Project.
