Joshua Lewis

Dr Lewis is a National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia Career Development Fellow with a research focus on disorders of mineralisation that are often seen in the elderly and those with chronic kidney disease. His research aims to develop better ways to identify and understand these diseases before the onset of clinical symptoms. He has published over 60 publications in leading journals such as Nature, Nature Genetics, JAMA Internal Medicine and the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research and is an author on two Thompson Reuters highly cited publications. He has been awarded prestigious awards and honours for his research including the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research Young Investigator Award, Raine Foundation/Alan Robson Fellow, Australian and New Zealand Bone and Mineral Society Kaye Ibbertson Award for Bone and Mineral Medicine and the World Congress on Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases Merck Sharpe & Dohme fellow. Currently, he is conducting research on developing convenient, reliable and safe tests for vascular calcification as well as the identification of mechanism(s) and modifiable factors related to vascular calcification.
