Assoc-Professor Eva Dimitriadis, PhD, is a Senior Research Fellow of the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia (NHMRC), Head of the Embryo Implantation Laboratory at Prince Henry's Institute of Medical Research and Hon. Assoc-Professor in the Dept of Anatomy and Developmental at Monash University.
Her laboratory is internationally recognised for its contributions to understanding the mechanisms underlying human implantation and placental development. Her contraceptive development work is the first to demonstrate that pharmacological targeting endometrial cytokines totally blocks implantation identifying a novel non-hormonal contraceptive strategy. Her laboratory has also identified critical regulators of decidualization and decidual-trophoblast interactions.
Assoc-Professor Dimitriadis has published in a number of prestigious journals including PNAS, JBC, Gut and PLoS. She serves on a number of Editorial Boards including the Editorial Board of Journal of Reproductive Immunology and serves on council for the Society for Reproductive Biology.
